About Debra Wenlock

I am a County Down based artist, living in the coastal village of Groomsport and currently working from the Purple Pod at the seafront in Bangor. As a painter with a background in textiles design, local historical themes and motoring subjects, I am increasingly finding that capturing a moment is my main focus and that pattern and colour are manifesting with greater prominance . 

Placing greater trust in my intuition to guide me through the painting process, I am aiming to recreate the feeling of awe that inspired my choice of subject and enjoy sharing local landscapes as I experience them.

I also love depicting the colourful wildlife characters that I have the pleasure to encounter whilst out and about, either walking, cycling or vintage motoring.
