About Cinzia Busto

  • Biography
My interest in painting began as a young girl when I saw Van Gogh's paintings reproduced in a calendar that my paternal grandmother gave me. From that moment I began to draw everything around me, and to paint my first oil paintings on canvas. Since then I haven't stopped. Painting and art in general are a primary necessity for me, which leads me to spend several hours every day in my studio, trying to focus my vision. The artists who inspire my work are Van Gogh, David Hockney, Billy Childish, David Brown Milne, Giovanni Frangi and Velasco Vitali. The themes that I prefer and have been exploring for some time now are linked to the urban and natural landscape; in particular my city Milan and the woods of Lake Maggiore where I spend a lot of my time.
