About Fiona Plaisted

  • Biography

I paint and make artwork because I love it. I love that moment when a painting starts to come to life and I hope that others see my work and find pleasure in it.

My mixed media canvases are built up in layers and are quite textured. The process involves sketching out an image, collaging with interesting and carefully chosen coloured paper, then painting in the detail with acrylic paint and finally adding embellishments such as buttons, beads and threads.

Most of my work is inspired by the great outdoors and our pet hens.
