  Oil painting, my life passion, began at the age of ten with the first painting.  After years of experimenting with colour and composition, "Impression Realism" developed from the search for meaning in life itself.  Motif became the creative force... to share that special experience everyone has in a moment of realization when surroundings, not just a view but also the air, sounds and feelings are recorded deep inside leaving a lasting memory.  As the moment deepens, focus recalls more than just what is visible and a composite experience appears which translates into composition and also lends itself to associated memories and then motif begins to develope, a challenge to speak with images which touch the essential through the fresh vision of a painting.
  Painting with oils is also a challenge as their translucent quality enables depth to appear but requires successive layers to be applied for this depth and also for surface light reflection off small raised points of paint.  This light reflection changes as surrounding light changes and the painting then has breath.  The actual work time is therefore elevated and results in a low production.  Today, I have ten finished paintings and one in preparation.                                                        "Impression Realism"
