About Bel Mur

  • Biography
When I was a child I was very clear that I wanted to be a sculptor, but as a woman I received an education where it was instilled in me that it was expected of me. I met all the established standards, studied economics and became a mother and wife. I was still passionate about art and I kept drawing, taking photos and painting in my few spare time. Five years ago I decided to dedicate myself exclusively to my passion, to what makes me completely happy. I am a painter and sculptor, although I also like photography and installation. I am a woman. This is what my work is about: the "female condition", fundamentally mine: personal, exclusive and non-transferable. And yet - despite enjoying a privileged situation compared to that of many millions of other women - I hope that my artistic work will echo the difficulties and dreams of everyone. Being a woman is an existential condition, wonderful and difficult, complex and contradictory, which is born, in part, from the contrast between what society considers what it is to be a woman, and what it is profound and useful to be a woman. I firmly believe in respect, tolerance, honesty and humility. I believe in the strength of unity, of cooperation. I dream of a world where we all have the same opportunities and in which we protect our planet. That is why I shape, using sustainable materials, a collective composed of infinite singularities, which nevertheless continuously operate for balance and harmony, overcoming the limitations of individualization. From empathy, between vindication and empowerment, I paint and sculpt women in struggle: a placid, benevolent and compassionate struggle, based on femininity understood as creative energy, of evolution, of prosperity and of universal solidarity. My women seek to be themselves beyond the labels, the canons and the constrictions; They intend to make the world a fairer and more harmonious place, in which there is no discrimination of gender, race, or any other type, in which we love and care for each other, unconditionally and timelessly from the difference. Women like me, with all our contradictions and paradoxes. All unique, but with a common soul; at the same time autonomous and linked; anonymous and defined; strong and fragile; delivered and insubordinate; free and repressed; insecure and full of faith; ethereal and massive; vulnerable and resistant. Witches, Amazons, missionaries, mothers, daughters, sisters, caregivers, nurturers, all in one. I create from my own feeling, from my own experience, from what I am and from the reality that I know. Through art I seek my own personal balance, grow, respect myself and rediscover myself every day. and I aspire to sensitize, raise awareness, or just inspire other people. I try to understand myself, define myself, recognize myself, heal myself and liberate myself, and at the same time - modestly, without pretense - to contribute to the liberation of everyone: both women and men, who are equally victims of the same drama. I think that on Artfinder I'll find the possibility to shaw and share my art work. Artfinder seems like a professional platform to me. That takes care of the artists and accompanies them and that for me is a very important value
