Biography
Born in Northamptonshire, of a Mother specialising in luxury silk lingerie, pattern making/cutting, and a Father, a college lecturer, Annettes’ childhood was full of colour, cloth and education.
Her Grandfathers were Master Carpenter/Decorator and Head Gardener, hands on and flowers!
She worked designing screenprints; returning to college later to rediscover printmaking in year two, continuing her studies at studios like Curwen and West Dean.
Intricate designs, reflecting her eclectic sources of inspiration, a world where dragons and flowers co-exist, transfer to lino using gouges, totally absorbing.
Then the pleasure of colour choice - monochromatic or rainbow?Once rolled, onto the mangle doubling as a press in her studio.
300gsm Somerset Velvet paper, strong yet malleable enables the deep embossing her work demands, rewarding her with ‘Best in Show’ prints.
