About Andrea Alonso

  • Biography
I have a particular interest in the visual representation of cities and towns, where urban solutions are more spontaneous, unrestrained, and less rigid. Through themes of daily life in the city, my artwork seeks to create an experience in the viewer and raise awareness of their human condition. The idea is for the individual to become the protagonist of the artwork and transport themselves into the environments I depict; thanks to shared experiences, one can easily identify with the ideas portrayed. I want to apply to sell my artwork on Artfinder to be part of a large community of artists, bring my work to a wider audience, have access to statistics and feedback through a user-friendly platform that allows constant communication.

    Event: Vertex

    Dates: 13 Sep 2023 - 20 Oct 2023

Venue: Museo Francisco Cossio, San Luis Potosí, Mexico

As an artist, there is nothing quite like the feeling of seeing your work on display in a gallery exhibition. And that feeling was amplified when my artwork, Lovebirds, was exhibited at the Vertex exhibition held in the Francisco Cossio Museum in San Luis Potosí, México.

The Vertex exhibition was a celebration of contemporary art, showcasing a range of styles and techniques from both emerging and established artists. The gallery space was transformed into a vibrant and immersive environment, with each artwork given the opportunity to shine.

Event: The city as an expression of social problems and Mexican culture

    Dates: 20 Apr 2022 - 20 Jul 2022

    Venue: Galeria Factible, Mexico City

Mexico is a country with a great cultural wealth, but also faces diverse social problems that affect a large part of its population. Violence, poverty, and corruption are just some of the problems that have affected the country in recent decades.
Despite government efforts to combat these problems, they persist and require constant attention. In this context, art can be a powerful tool to help solve these problems.

Art has been used throughout history as a means of expression and reflection on social reality. Through paintings, my intention is to foster reflection, empathy, and social awareness. Additionally, it can create a space for dialogue and encounter between different groups in society.

    Event: Brilliant

    Dates: 1 Jun 2019 - 6 Jul 2019

Venue: NYA FAIR, 7 Franklin Place, New York, NY 10013

As I stepped into the NewYorkART.com Gallery in the vibrant Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood, I was enveloped in a world of art. The exhibition showcased an array of captivating artworks, and I was particularly drawn to the unique creations of exceptional artists. The gallery space was meticulously arranged, with each artwork carefully positioned to create a harmonious flow.

The event drew a diverse crowd of art enthusiasts, collectors, and curious passersby. I engaged in conversations with fellow attendees, discussing the intricate details and contemplating the meaning behind the abstract forms. It was fascinating to witness the range of perspectives and interpretations, highlighting the subjective nature of abstract art.

This exhibition proved to be a captivating journey into the realm of abstraction. I was very grateful for participate on it and happy of the eclectic mix of attendees.

Event: Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale

Venue: Dafen Art Museum, Shenzhen, China

This art oil painting “Insecure” was a standout piece at the 1st Dafen International Biennale Oil Painting in 2018, held in Shenzhen, China. Measuring 61×61 centimeters, the abstract painting is a study in color, texture, and movement.
“Insecure” is a riot of vibrant hues and bold brushstrokes. The painting seems to pulse with energy and emotion, conveying a sense of turmoil and inner conflict.

The colors are rich and varied, ranging from deep blues and purples to fiery oranges and yellows. Brushstrokes are loose and expressive, creating a dynamic sense of movement and flow.
