  • Biography
I am a Frenchman who has spent a lot of time with the British Royal Family! The last decade of my professional career was spent producing TV documentaries about them; these sold all over the world. But my educational formation had been in Fine Art - I studied at l'école nationale superière des arts visuels La Cambre in Brussels, and then did a DEA Esthétique at University Paris-Sorbonne 1. And so I decided to return to my love of painting and combine it with my fascination for the Queen. I embarked upon a series of portraits of her at different stages of her life. I find her iconic and inscrutable and magnificent even though I am not a royalist. I donated two of my works to charity fundraisers and they were the highest sales of the night - £2,000 and £3,000. I have also sold two others privately for similar sums. In her Platinum Jubilee year, I decided to sell my originals, and to create a series of hand-finished limited edition prints and printed canvasses. I think that people will be interested to buy portraits of the Queen now she approaches the end of her reign and her life. My influences are Andy Warhol for pop art touches, and Gustav Klimt for his rich gold tones.
