I always feel a bit sorry for the animals in the ZOO. And you often wonder who’s looking at who. When I looked at my print I found the bear instantly so I started to draw the features more detailed. While drawing I listened to the song ’Three Sisters’ from the Dutch band Nits. That’s how the characters in the back appeared.
It is made with three layers of acrylic paint on a home made gelatine plate and after drying colored in with Karisma soft colored pencils.
This monoprint is sold with a passe partout size: 40 x 50 x 0,3 cm
Printing gives me the pleasure of surprise. It always turns out different than expected. This triggers new ideas. My monoprints often consist of multiple layers of paint printed on top of each other. And after that printing process I also draw or paint on the prints again.
Acrylic paint; Karisma soft colored pencils; Acid-Free paper, 135 g/m2
