Original artwork description:

After the four seasons series I have one panel left. So I thought to celebrate the new year. 2022 is year of tiger. Japanese people celebrate the new year as the calendar we use now (Gregorian calendar). On the other hand Chinese people celebrate their new year as Lunar calendar. It will be Feb 1st, 2022.
According to internet, people born in a year of the Tiger are brave, competitive, unpredictable, and confident. They are very charming and well-liked by others. But sometimes they are likely to be impetuous, irritable, and overindulgent.
With stubborn personalities and tough judgment, Tigers work actively and express themselves boldly, doing things in a high-handed manner. They are authoritative and never go back on what they have said.
With great confidence and indomitable fortitude, they can be competent leaders. They will not make preparations for anything, but can handle anything that comes along.

The golden Kanji character means "Tiger".

This is also one of my painting experiment in Japanese Yuzen style with revised frame design. The painting is on a hexagon cradled wood panel with linen canvas surface. About 8"×9.125". 8" is from side to side. 9.125" is from corner to corner. The hexagon wood frame is 1" thick/depth, 0.75" width on all edges. The cradled wood panel is secured by L shape brass brace on the back. I also install the hanging hardware so this piece is framed and ready to hang.
The raw wood panel and raw frame are all custom order online. I finish them by myself so please expect some handmade mark.
The gold pigment on top will reflect light under different angle. You may see different colors of the gold line work under different lighting condition.
Although I try my best to match the color of digital picture as the actual product, the color may vary due to different monitor settings. Please be aware of this fact.
The idea is to have this piece like a tile on the wall.
I hope you enjoy this series. More details can be found on my website. :D
PS: I may made and paint more hexagon panels like these but definitely not the same theme/subject. Therefore they are one of kind.
Please feel free to contact me with any question.
