Do you remember what it was like during the first lock down?
How did you feel?
How was your mental health?
It was indeed a crazy time. The conspiracy theories about infected bats and being unable to see our loved ones. We tried all sorts of remedies and concoctions, my friend’s father even self-prescribed whisky to kill the virus. This period of chaos, confusion and loneliness inspired this painting. You can judge for yourself if those conspiracy theories became true but for me it felt as though my mind was under attack.
This piece is inspired by the Barbara Kruger’s 1989 untitled piece for the Washington women’s march protesting abortion laws.
