'Younger Than The Sun' is an original drawing in pencil and ink on hand stained paper. Measuring 158mm x 200mm in size this study shows us a contemplative cat with his bird friend in the presence of the mighty sun...'We were born before the wind...also younger than the sun'...these words come from a Van Morrison song entitled 'Into The Mystic'...I love the song and feel the lyrics were perfect to be woven into this tale...
Texture and detail has been added with the skinniest of pen nibs which creates lots of detail to look at close up. I love to experiment with abstract shape and pattern within a drawing and my imagination meanders in a happy way as I draw using words to tell a small tale within the drawing.
