Elephants are extremely beautiful animals with their huge fan-like ears, long ,wrinkly trunks that can lift trees ; and leathery skin which is a delight for artists like myself!
This is an African elephant in extremely loose watercolor with a lot of texture and color.
I did not draw him in pencil- just started out with the washes of pink,blue and purple and kept adding splashes and spatters of color.
The overall appearance of the painting is fresh and expressive and it will appeal to people who like to see something new every time they look at an artwork.
