On a languidly hot day in Amsterdam, a young man relaxes, his foot dangling in the murky water. This is an oasis of peace, with just the faintest ringing of tram bells to disturb him. His phone lies on his stomach, his day pack by his side. A stolen moment. The light is strong, radiating heat. The work is full of warmth, using a palette of green and earthy colours, and is rich in realism and detail. The canvas is O.4 inches deep and can therefore hang frameless if wished. Texture has been added for extra depth. A wonderful splash of summer heat, a perfect gift.
