Oil on deep edge canvas (edges are painted). 50 x 50 cm

Current work examines emotion and perception through fictitious characters and de-contextualised dialogue. I am interested in exploring what happens to the image through the process of applying the paint.
Although my image source is usually a photograph I am not trying to create a photo-realist work in any way but rather a re-interpretation of that photo as a painting.
The works are intended to portray fleeting moments, the expression of the subject offering us a glimpse into their innermost thoughts. The works can be interpreted as part conversations, part musings, into which the viewer is drawn willingly or not into the world of the subject, both in a voyeuristic and complicit way.

This painting is shipped stretched and ready to hang with fixtures on the back of the stretcher. It is signed on the back of the canvas. Paintings are securely packaged and shipped with a tracking number.
