As I stood in awe in front of Yosemite Valley View scene, I contemplated the feeling of grandeur and serenity it expressed, and that feel was the inspiration for this artwork.
I felt that painting this scene required expressive fluid brushstrokes, with the brush heavily loaded with oil paint to create thick juicy texture.

Materials used to create this artwork: oil on oil primed linen on archival Sintra panel. The painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. The painting is unframed, and it will require a frame to hang on the wall. It will easily fit in a standard (USA) 8"x8" frame. Images showing the painting framed in home interiors are for presentation of potential framing ideas only. Frame is not included.
