Original artwork description:

So the rules of lock-down were relaxed prior to Christmas 2020 and we took the chance to slip away to South Yorkshire. Not too far to go, good statistics on Covid rates of infection, and steady not too mountainous climbing. The latter important as I was tiring from the impact of crohn's medications and small flares.

When we left the house it was snowing! We got to the holiday house on a hill and looked out at beautiful hills. Walking back the next evening the sun was shining along those hills. It was blissful. A moment to be grateful for.

During lock-down I was part of a group of artists who set challenges either based on an artistic style, medium or subject. This was actually relating to O'Keefe's landscapes - flattish bands of colour to describe the scenery in front. Based on photographs taken whilst walking in Yorkshire near Malham. I've created a collection "Covid Creativity - Art from Lock-down".

Image 27.8 x 20 cm (c 10 x 8") is completed in acrylic and gouache on watercolour paper. The frame is white with palewood effect with a clear acrylic front 35 x 28 cm (14 x 11")

(C) of the image remains with the artist

Materials used:
