Original artwork description:
This drawing was done “en plain air” in the rice fields of Er Cheng in Yilan County, Taiwan in February 2023. It was drawn on a warm overcast early spring day with clouds of thousands of midges everywhere! It must have been the spawning or mating time as I’ve never seen so many all at once before. Plus, amazingly I never even got bitten once by them, unbelievably lucky! I mustn’t have been their cup of tea!
