Yellow Ochre is an ancient natural pigment, being used since prehistoric times. In this expressive watercolour portrait of an African elephant, this color mimics the earthen tones of the body beautifully, helped by the Moonglow by Daniel Smith; which provides the grey-purple tones in shadow areas. I have kept the colours light and simple, leaving a fair bit of area white, in the background. The painting is on heavy weight Crescent Illustration board.
It will be shipped flat packed in a cardboard box along with a signed certificate of authenticity.
