Painted on-site at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. Features a close-up view of a tall bearded iris flower of the variety named "Rio", with yellow top petals, rose-bronze-colored bottom petals with white centers, and bright orange "beards".
Painted with both palette knife and brush, the flower petal shapes are enhanced by the shaping of the paint. Painted in oil with iridescent oil and casein on board. The running and granulating effects in the background are created with blue and green casein paint, with tints of blue, yellow and purple oil paint layered over it,
Framed in a 3.5" wide woos frame ornate molding and antique gold finish. May be purchased unframed by request.
