ORIGINAL OGNYAN CHITAKOV ARTWORK !!!
2021, "题西林壁 (Written on the Wall of West Forest Temple)" - stone wall sculpture
This original melted volcanic rock wall sculpture is one of the latest artworks of the skilful Bulgarian contemporary professional sculptor Ognyan Chitakov, deeply inspired by naturalism, postmodernism and zen art. The artwork represents the artist's idea of beauty and aesthetics in general. The stones are melted at high degree temperatures, reaching the point where they are back to their origin magma state and then slowly cooled down for days. The artist's concept is to restart the formation of the material and bring it naturally to a new organic shape and name it after beautiful ancient Chinese poems. This wall sculpture is one extraordinary melted red tuff stone masterpiece and exquisite modern home wall décor.
"Written on the Wall of West Forest Temple" is one of the poems the great Chinese poet from Song dynasty, Su Shi (1037 – 1101 C.E.), composed during his tour on the Mount Lushan in today’s Jiangxi Province. It is one of the most famous works of Su. It depicts the complicated scenery of the mountain, and in the meanwhile suggests the philosophy that we are rarely wise in our own affairs.
"Each stone material is alive and has a soul. I never ignore it and its gravity as well. I try to give each artwork the feeling of lightness." ... by the artist
