Original artwork description:

I have watched and photographed many Wrens. It is one of the most common birds where I live. I used a small format size for the series of Wren images. I chose to create small paintings to match the life size of these birds.
My technique to make layers at first had mostly been produced with texture mediums such as plaster or modeling paste. For this painting I decided to use more paint and a palette knife to build the layers.
