Original artwork description:

Wounded minotaur/ Minotauro herido. A vision of the The mythical Minotaur—part man, part bull; this artwork is a Surrealists reaction/comment.

Inspired by Pierre-Yves Trémois' "Initiation, Fleurs Et Flammes" (1956) - trying to give it a different - a more gestural, richer in shades, expressive approach.

"The mythical Minotaur—part man, part bull—was also the Picasso's alter ego in the 1930s, and part of a broader exploration of Classicism, that persisted in his work for many years. The Minotaur was also emblematic for Surrealists, who saw it as the personification of forbidden desires. For Picasso it expressed complex emotions at a time of personal turmoil. The Minotaur symbolized lasciviousness, violence, guilt, and despair."

- the exact size is 155 x 110 cm / 61 x 43.3 inches.
- acrylic, markers, pencils, vernis on canvas
- I applied to it more isolating layers of glossy final varnish.
- it has about 5-7 cm extra white margin on the edges, in order to be stretched on wooden frame later on.

==========

It will be shipped rolled, in a hard tube. I recommend taking the artwork to a professional framer, in order to have it re-stretched.

==========
