World Map - Sand Dots is from my Organic World Map Series.

Creatively, our world can be represented in so many ways. I enjoy using images of organic material that I stumble across to create a unique art piece featuring our world.

I was inspired in the creation of this print by an incredible sight I encountered on a beach in on the mid-north NSW coast. Early one morning I discovered the beach was covered in an intricate pattern of "sand dots". They had apparently been created by crustaceans burying their way under the sand while the tide was out, producing tiny dots of sand in lovely, asymetric patterns.
