ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"In 'Work always bears fruit,' from my 'Madeleine' series, I reflect on the enduring rewards of persistence and the cultivation of experiences. This painting encapsulates the theme of sowing efforts in the fertile grounds of our past, allowing them to bloom into the fruits of the present. It serves as an allegory for how the seeds of our actions and memories grow over time, influenced by the care and intention we invest in them. Through this piece, I invite the audience to consider the cyclic nature of growth and memory—how the endeavors of yesterday shape the abundance of today. It underscores the beauty and necessity of tending to our personal histories, nurturing them to yield rich, everlasting rewards."
MEDELEINE Series
The series of works “Madeleine” are the artist’s reflections on the nature of time and memory, the ability of art to recreate the past and give it meaning.
The series is a deeply autobiographical study, where the artist asks questions about the nature of false memories, the ability of memory to correctly store stories, the ability of things and people to influence the perception of memory.
As in Proust’s novel “In Search of Lost Time,” where the taste of Madeleine becomes the key to the invisible rooms of the past, each painting by the artist is a gateway to personal memories that mix with fictitious images, evoking a feeling of either déjà vu or reality, a subtle but always vivid anticipation .
In the Madeleine series, the artist reveals an abundance of emotions and experiences, and, like Proust, uses art as a means to recreate the past, giving it new meaning and new value. Each work is a dialogue between the present and the past, between the external world and the internal space of memory.
