This print carries on from my reduction linocut adventure and follows on from my previous print ‘Blue Meadow’. It is also the second print I have made using my new larger format printing press. I have so enjoyed working on a larger scale; it allows for more varied and exciting mark making. I have again limited my colour palette on this print, alternating between blues and greens with each layer. This print was inspired by a ‘lockdown’ walk in woodland near to me. With this print I have tried to work spontaneously which doesn’t usually work with a reduction linocut as once an area of lino is carved away there is no way to add any marks to the print further on. The only detail I did plan from the beginning was the white flowers framing the path. This print comes mounted in an archival window frame. It is a standard size and is ready to be put into your chosen frame.

Materials used:

Somerset satin paper and traditional oil based printing inks
