Woman's nude sitting with blue fabric. Elegant modern watercolor painting. 30,5 x 45,5 cm
Painted from life in the art atelier in Rimini.
You will need to produce a frame with glass protection on the front, to protect it from wet and damage.
This is one of my studies from life in the art atelier in Rimini. For many years I have been very reluctant to sell it, as it really holds my dearest memories of the artist community in Romagna, Italy. We had so much fun! I was applying my limited palette approach to the body study. I was also exploring the possibilities of jesture, as I tend to be too precise in copying from life. But I think I managed to stay true to my usual watercolor transparency and the magic of the white areas.
Watercolor is my tool for organizing chaos. The shapes are suggested by what I see around me. They are pulled out of the registers of my memory, desired because they have been lived and therefore true.
In this way in my watercolors the liquid matter and the pigment meet the shapes of my memory and together with my hand they perform an essential trio that wants to remind us of the element from which we came and of which we have a daily need - water. The waters of life, the waters of the womb, which nurture and bless the new beginnings.
