This is an original acrylic painting created in 2018. It was a sudden inspiration that came from festival I've been to last year, Lazaruvane.
Lazaruvane is very old Bulgarian custom, which is performed to welcome spring. It is only performed by girls and it symbolize the growth of the girl. Once a girl has performed this ritual, it is considered that she’s ready for marriage.
This small size canvas depicts young women wearing Bulgarian folk clothing.
