This is a risograph* print in a limited edition of 50. It is printed using black and flourescent pink. The overall paper size is 11" x 17" and the image itself is 10" x 13".
The print will be rolled and sent in a tube. Flat package is available only on request.
What is a risograph?
Risograph printing was developed as a quick and inexpensive method for reproducing color copies in the late 80s. The machine looks like a copier but it is not - it is a duplicator (remember the old mimeograph machines of old?). The Risograph is an environmentally friendly and cost effective printer which uses soy-based inks to produce unique outcomes (each print is a little different). The underlying technology of a Risograph is very similar to that of screen printing. The original image file is sent to the machine and it is burnt onto a master, the master is then wrapped around a print drum. This drum then rotates at high speed which pushes the ink through the screen and onto the paper as it is sent through the machine. Each color requires a separate ink drum.
