Original artwork description:

My painting Wisteria 1 was inspired by our beautiful wisteria display in Adelaide’s Botanic Gardens.
In springtime it is one of my favourite places to visit, when the arbor becomes a tunnel of purple and white.
Wisteria is beautiful flowering plant. Most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America and north western Africa.
Wisteria is loved for their wonderful springtime flowers and it’s deliciously scented flowers. It blooms for a very short time, but it is well worth the wait.
Medicinal use of Chinese Wisteria: The seed is diuretic. It is used in the treatment of heart ailments, however, these seeds are toxic unless boiled. The stems and flowers are also used in Chinese medicine, as garnishes for salads, or boiled and made into fritters.
The leaves have been used as a tea alternative.

Materials used:

oil paint and acrylic paint
