This little wise owl reminds me that true wisdom is having more questions than answers. I have many questions, about many things and the more time I have on this planet, the more I realise that it is the act of asking - engaging and being curious about the world - that is important to me. It's a bit like how the journey IS the destination. Curiosity for me, is the answer. So, what are you curious about today?
Perhaps you're wondering how I create these paintings?
Well, first I sketch a rough outline, then I apply masking fluid to the areas I need to keep 'pristine' white. Then I make a tea while I wait for it to dry. Sometimes coffee. On occasion I'll grab a snack, usually fruit. Then I mix up my watercolour paints and flood the paper with colour. Then I wait for it to dry. Sometimes I cook dinner whilst I'm waiting. Sometimes I just dance around the room. Once it dries, I delicately. remove the masking fluid and prepare myself for hours of doodling fun. I sit in a comfortable, cross-legged position, placing the painting on my drawing board and doodle, and doodle, and doodle until I cannot possible doodle no more. I sign the work and then we do a brief meditation to celebrate the materialisation of creativity, giving thanks to the eternal light that guides us all.
