This painting was done on my recent painting trip to the Baltic Sea and is named after a great book I read there and that described that "wintering" can be a certain state of the soul that can occur anytime in life out of the blue, sometimes after traumatic life events, necessary to heal your soul and to develop into new life again....

Watermarks and lines, scratches and other watercolor effects are important to my work and keep fascinating me.
