Artwork description:

‘Winter Wonder’ is a hand finished reduction lino print based on a vintage illustration. The actual image measures 30cm x 30 cm and each piece was printed onto 40cm x 40cm 350gsm water colour paper.

A reduction print is where a lino surface is printed in a number of colours overall (in this case 3.) A colour is printed each time further detail is cut / removed from the lino block.

This is a time consuming process where a limited number of prints are produced, leaving unusable remains of lino which are then discarded.

There are two runs of this design. One, which has darker creatures is part of a run of 10 prints. The slightly darker edition comprises of 15 pieces (please choose which you prefer from the drop down menu.)

Created using Caligo safe wash oil based inks and printed with love, on a press by the Artist Sharon Hiley at the Sona Beam studio in Sowerby Bridge.

Each piece has been hand finished with posca pen for final detail so even though each of these prints are part of an edition each is truly unique.
