Original artwork description:

A pale yet energetic image of two trees.
I began to paint this, along with its sister painting 'Wild Day - Clearing', on the afternoon of Winter Storm Ciara on 9th February 2020, which brought havoc to many parts of the British Isles.

My home nestles under very old, huge beech trees, and at times like this I have to say it can be a little worrying!

Painted in Winsor & Newton watercolour, white acrylic and permanent Derwent Inktense pencil on heavy 320 gsm Indian handmade cotton paper which is a lovely acid free paper with deckle edge.

My artworks are very much affected by my surroundings - and my mood. I had planned to spend the day making a pastel drawing of lovers standing under some trees, silhouetted by a sunset, but this was a heartfelt reaction to the storm!

In late November I was gifted a pack of this beautiful paper, so from then, through January and February 2020, I found myself painting a series of tree images on this lovely paper. here, this series continues with its latest addition.

This paper is A4 in size. 21 x 29cm / 8.25 x 11.5 inches
100% cotton rag
Acid-free
