It doesn’t snow very often in Shrewsbury but when it did I captured this image for this painting. The snow dramatically changes the landscape with different colours and textures. Trees take on different shapes and character which is a challenge to depict.
Primarily I work with acrylic paint and ink, collage and mixed media. The acrylics are applied with rollers, pieces of shaped wood, card and any found materials. Collage materials comprise of torn or shaped tissue paper, newsprint, and magazine illustrations. Details are then added with acrylic paint and ink, oil and chalk pastels, pen and ink. I have published a book illustrating my work entitled “Painting Without Brushes” which sums up my style of painting.
