The weather had been cold frost lasting all day. The sky clear and blue, clouds only arriving at sunset, colours sharp and vivid, this particular evening the sky was lit with a bright orange flash before the sun sunk out of sight behind trees. ‘ Winter Sky Frozen Fields’ captures that moment. Painted on a burnt Sienna ground, surface is texture and energetic , text is written on left edge ‘Winter Sky’ right ‘frozen Fields’ Signed in pencil bottom right, titled signed and dated on the reverse.
