The young Winter Goat Willow
Soothing deep yellow sunset sky,
Calm and stillness,
Serene natural beauty,
The bare spindle like branches,
Earthy shades and grasses .

Original impressionist watercolour on tinted watercolour paper bockingford 300 gsm 140lb.
I used my Chinese brushes and applied the yellow backwash and then used a dragging technique for the goat willow and grasses whilst the paper was damp. I scrapped out the paint with my nail. It was a meditative process when I was creating this scene and reflecting back to a place I know well by the River Stour in the Blackmore vale of North Dorset.
