Contemporary Impressionism.

This little painting was inspired by a walk last year. We had had a small flurry of snow which is getting more unusual each year so I rushed out with my camera and acquired some wonderful reference material.

I painted this late afternoon scene back in studio over a bright pink underpainting using thick impasto oil paints and dynamic brush strokes. The painting was completed in one sitting Alla Prima style.
