This piece was inspired by a frozen pre-dawn landscape I witnessed whilst flying over Germany one winter. I was returning to England in December 2001 and the route of my plane included having to re-fuel in Germany. This was a blessing in disguise as I am always too excited to sleep on flights because I love to watch the landscape below and see the endless skies at dawn and dusk. This pre-dawn sight was really inspiring to me and stayed with me for quite a while before I had the chance to recreate it. It was really early one frosty wintery morning and as we came in to land I could see uninterrupted rows of bare dark trees stretching for miles over the white frosted fields. There were no signs of civilization and the bareness of the leafless trees contrasting with the first signs of daylight pushing its way through the darkness of the night sky really touched and inspired me to make this painting. A print of this painting is in a private collection in England.
A note to International Buyers:
Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
