"Crosslots" is the name of a nature preserve a few miles from my home, and this 16x12 oil painting is based on a photo I took during the winter of 2022 when we had an unusually deep snow and I ventured into Crosslots on snowshoes. To the right, behind a stone wall, is a grove of dogwood trees. Besides the brilliant cobalt blue sky, the deep shadows and the trail of footprints and cross-country ski tracks before me, made for some interesting lines that intersected the long shadows of trees. This is framed in silver (a plein air-type classical wooden frame), and is ready to hang. My insignia appears on the front, it is signed not he back, and coated in Gamvar satin varnish. The paint is color-fast for 500 years. I ship with a Certificate of Authenticity.
