Semi abstract, mixed media collage/painting on deep edged box canvas and framed in a white wood box frame without glass so the texture can be fully appreciated.

This style of work is created using painted papers that I prepare in advance using acrylic paints, inks, pastels, wax crayons and oilbars. These are then torn and assembled on the canvas to form a pleasing composition. They are then glued in place and then more paint, ink, etc is added to get the desired effect.

I am primarily a landscape painter and much of my inspiration comes from the Scottish countryside. This way of working produces vibrant and expressive landscapes.
