Below a dark headland on Orkney's West mainland a sandy beach is washed clean by lazy North-westerly swell while kittiwakes feed opportunistically on the small crustacea dug from the sand by the sea. It is painted with a mixture of acrylic paint and ink on a heavyweight water colour paper.
