This is a painting of a beach park on the windward side of the Hawaiian island of Oahu, on a stormy day with big dark clouds roiling and the palms bending in the tradewinds. The painting is purposely painted very loosely, more gestural than detailed, allowing drips and brushwork to show through, allowing the process of painting to become part of the energy of the image.
