Original artwork description:

“Window Panes in the Rain” was inspired by a photo I took in Downderry, Cornwall in 2021. It was a very wet day and this made everything outside streaky and unusual looking. It is really just a colourful modern abstract, with lots of separate panes that each deserve close attention. There are small areas of metallic copper that look different at various times of the day.

t is a large contemporary abstract, 122 x 122 cm or 48 x 48 inches. It would be a stunning centre piece for a large wall. I think it looks great at distances ranging from several metres to a metre. It is my first painting of 2022, a year which we all hope will be better than 2020 and 2021.

It would suit a modern home or apartment but also looks really good in our Victorian lounge. We will miss it when it has sold! It is ready to hang.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint applied with brushes and palette knives. Additional paint dribbled on or squirted.
