The windmill is one of the symbols of Mallorca, the island where I live. I really love these constructions, they perfectly fit into the local landscape, adding a special charm to it, combining the airiness of the wheel, blades, and the massiveness of its stone base into one. They also remind me of history, of the physical labor of a person and his engineering abilities.
I painted this small-sized painting with acrylics, trying to convey the beauty of the sky at sunset, the monumentality and lightness of the windmill at the same time. Although the picture is small, it will attract the eyes of others, because light comes from the picture.
