Oil Painting on canvas of Lake Windermere at sunset.
A more usual subject for me are the beautiful lakes near my own home in Killarney but I was so captivated by a lovely photo of Lake Windermere taken by a friend that I felt I had to pick up my brushes. I wanted to capture the beautiful rich colours of the sunset and the feeling of peace and tranquility when contemplating such a beautiful scene.
The edges of the canvas are painted in blue and it is mounted on a white floating frame
