Original artwork description:

Sailing boats jostle for position around a red bouy. Seen in a marina in Norfolk pre-lockdown it shouted to me as the perfect memory to turn into a colourful work of movement and water for this challenge. Ink pens provide the outlines.

This challenge was to channel Raoul Dufy. To me he was representative of white space, ink outlines, and water. Fluidity of movement and clean bright colour being important.

I've created a collection "Covid Creativity - Art from Lock-down". The Art Challenge between a group of artists who got to know each other in and around Hereford. Setting challenges for each other, either based on an artistic style, medium or subject. Meeting virtually from across the UK to share our results.

Image 26 x 18 cm (c 10.3 x 7.25") is completed in ink pen and watercolour washes on watercolour paper. The painting is in a dove grey mount in a white frame 38 x 30 x 2.5 cm (15 x 12")
