Original artwork description:

Wincombe Park, Wiltshire
A beautiful hue of pale apricot light,
Walking the path through the field,
I look across to the woodland I know,
Spent so many years seeing this landscape in Summer,
The meadow is full of dried flora and still some wild yellow flowers appearing.

Words and feelings of a very special local scene on the outskirts of Shaftesbury just over the North Dorset to Wiltshire border.
Original impressionist watercolour landscape on extra rough textured watercolour paper Bockingford 425 gsm 200lb.
I used a three colour technique with a wet on wet background. Then I used an anti clockwise brushstroke to apply the trees using my sable hair brush. To create the meadow I used my Chinese brushes and pressed, dabbed and dragged the paint.
I use this process a lot in my artworks and enjoy the experience of creating the markings of nature.

Materials used:

Extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 425 gsm 200lb, Windsor and Newton watercolours Cotman, sable hair brushes, Chinese brushes, filbert brush,
