This stunning stained-glass window is made up of fragments of medieval glass that have been put together by the citizens of Winchester randomly following the destruction of the original panes by Oliver Cromwell's army during the civil war in 1642. The result of this randomised piecing together of broken glass creates a striking mosaic effect and its reinvention is a true symbol of life after death.
This work of art forms part of a large collection of cathedral studies exploring modern society's relationship with religion.
