Willow over Water
This painting was done en plein air in Nivki Park in Kyiv. The weather was very sunny, and the bright colors of nature magically transferred onto my canvas. In the middle of my plein air session, an air raid siren went off, which happens often when Russian missiles strike peaceful cities in Ukraine. I didn't seek shelter because I wanted to finish this painting. And here is the result of my work. I hope you will appreciate it.
This painting is done on a canvas of the 'jute' type. I bought this fabric at a hardware store and stretched it over a stretcher frame. Then I treated it with a special high-quality adhesive for painting. All this is done to preserve the unique color and texture of the jute fabric. The painting does not cover the entire surface of the canvas. The color of this fabric is used as the background for the painting.
I was using professional oil paints. 40X50cm large and 2 cm deep, or 15.7"x20" large and 0.8" deep.
I send my pictures with the delivery by postal service Ukrposhta with EMS which means that they arrive in 7-14 days at any destination around the world (From experience, this happens within 2-3 weeks. Sometimes, but very rarely, delivery takes up to a month). There might be some delays due to the Russian aggression in Ukraine. However, postal services are still operational. As an artist, I continue working despite everything. Please, support us, Ukrainians! We are doing everything possible to ensure our country survives and remains democratic.
Please note,
Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes which are applied when the delivery reaches that destination.
I have no control over these charges and I cannot predict their amount.
You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.
